Dr. J. Peter Strang is a graduate of Amherst College (B.A), Dartmouth Medical School (B.M.S.), and the University of Washington School of Medicine (M.D.). Following his internship in New York and residency in Adult Psychiatry at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., he completed a 2-year Fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine (Consultation – Liaison Psychiatry) at the Boston of Medicine. Dr. Strang remained at the BU Medical Center (Boston City Hospital) as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry until 1998, during which time he directed an outpatient psychosomatic clinic and was on the active faculty, teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows. In 1985, he founded UDC.
Currently, Dr. Strang’s professional activities involve the management of UDC and the part-time practice of psychiatry. He is the author of three book chapters and several articles on disability related topics.
Janice Thims

Janice has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin and a Master's Degree in Public Administration/Hospital Administration from the University of Southern California.

Janice has been with UDC since 2012. As the Director of Nursing and Quality Assurance with 20 plus years of experience of medical reviews and report writing. She works diligently to support the staff to prepare reviews that are not only accurate, but often flawless. Prior to working in the insurance industry, she worked in hospital administration with the responsibility for Occupational Health. Janice works closely with the Medical Necessity Experts.
Shannon Nevill
Director of Clinical Appeals

Shannon graduated from Mississippi County community college with an Associates of applied science in nursing, and later attended the RN to BSN program at University of Columbia/Sinclair school of nursing program in Columbia Missouri.
In 2003, she was nominated for the overall excellence in nursing award.

Shannon has a primary background in ER, ICU, and leadership. She has 28 years of experience overall and 13 years of experience in clinical appeals and revenue cycle management on both payer and provider roles. She is considered a clinical appeals expert and has recovered millions of dollars for various providers. She acted as a subject matter expert on a national Medicare appeals team for the largest insurance carrier in the United States.
Julie Salvato

Julie graduated summa cum laude from UMaine with a B.S. in Marketing and a Minor in Communication. She then graduated from Gonzaga with a Masters in the Art of Communication and Leadership.

Julie has been with UDC since 2018. She connects with key business executives and prepares sales reports. She handles forecasting, recruiting, marketing and new business.
